November 14th, 2011 by admin

One advantage to being this old is that I've seen how things have progressed in the Games Industry. But I still like the classics. ;-)

@UKGovsucksTV Ditto, my Uncle gave me a copy when I was 8 I believe. Still the best ever.

  2. UKGovsucksTV Says:

@GearsOfChainsaw Still playing it today mate! TEN years later!! :-)

  3. GearsOfChainsaw Says:

Red Alert 2 is my all time favourite RTS. Such a classic.

@RPKGameVids I've got a scan of the cover of the Atari ST Review magazine that had my game on the coverdisk, it was October 1992 not August 1992. I think August 1992 was when I had a large advert put in ST Format. :-/
The advert was for 'The Galaxy Bundle Package'. When I was selling a bunch of games for £20. Quarter Page Ad. To be honest, I didn't sell that many. lol. I did better selling the games seperately!

  5. RPKGameVids Says:

@UKGovsucksTV I've never heard of the ST handbook. But I still have all my ST Format magazines in my loft. Now I feel like looking through them to see if I have one that has one of your adverts, lol.

  6. UKGovsucksTV Says:

@afreshstartedl R-Type was a great game. My cousin had a Spectrum 48K. Not sure if he had that game, as he was mad on Jet Set Willy!! lol.

  7. UKGovsucksTV Says:

@cantosis2007 Games like... 'Red Moon', 'The Hobbit' and suchlike? Classics mate. "Walk North" "Look in box" etc, etc. lol. Hey, they were good games! There was also an Adventure Creator program released at one point too, where you could create your own adventures. That was superb!

  8. UKGovsucksTV Says:

@RPKGameVids I had some adverts put in ST Format at one point as that was one of the biggest selling magazines at the time (as you would know). Nothing else mind. Do you ever have the smaller publication called the ST Handbook? One of my games was on the Coverdisk of that, plus I wrote an article in that too.

  9. RPKGameVids Says:

I used to play on an Atari ST, and I used to buy the monthly ST Format magazine. Did you ever do anything for that magazine?

I enjoy a lot of video games, and retro computers and consoles. But none of the latest consoles and games do anything for me, the games always seem really generic and they lack colour.

  10. cantosis2007 Says:

My my mum used to love the old adveture games as well, really crap in those days though...it was all typing. "turn left" "turn right" "pick up magic lantern" "rub magic lantern" Lol!

  11. cantosis2007 Says:

@cantosis2007 oh i cant post the link, i guess its not active anymore but there is a nebula-entertainment website that does games

  12. cantosis2007 Says:

    is this it mate?

  13. UKGovsucksTV Says:

@nuclearblastowns Thanks for that mate! Nice one.

  14. UKGovsucksTV Says:

@cantosis2007 It was 'Nebula Entertainment' mate. One of my games (called 'Aaron') was featured on the coverdisk of the August 1992 Edition of Atari ST Review magazine. That was my biggest achievement at that time. I went on to sell another dozen or so games and a National Lottery Statistics Program which was rather popular. I don't do games programming anymore. I went on to do a variety of other things, including more recently importing and selling Cable Modems etc. ;-)

  15. cantosis2007 Says:

@DibbersPage those bat games were quite addictive when they first came out.....I brought an Atari classics game for my DS recently and that is on there.....seems so crap these days and really its hard to belive they were ever playable.....just shows how quick things move on

  16. cantosis2007 Says:

@UKGovsucksTV I did not catch the name of the company you once owned on your video, what was the name? what work do you do these days anything to do with games?

  17. afreshstartedl Says:

    R-Type on the Sinclair Spectrum!

  18. UKGovsucksTV Says:

@cantosis2007 Yeah, that's the one! LOL! You hit the target, the Deathstar would go down to a small circle on the screen, then it would explode like mad (well, loads of circles! lol) and the music would start pounding out again for a few seconds, as you start getting hit by tie-fighters again. Oh yes, it's all coming back now! lol.
Do I sound sad now or what? ;-)
